Draft for legal review. This wording hasn't been approved yet and may change before launch.

Terms of service

Last updated 24 September 2026

These terms apply to Pinch MCP, a hosted service at pinch.scalebop.com run by ScaleBop (ABN 89 886 488 110), “we” or “us”. By creating an account you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

1. What the service does

Pinch MCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It lets AI tools you connect, such as Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code or Cursor, read data from your Pinch Payments account using the API credentials you give us, and, only if you turn it on, create payment links. We are an independent service built on Pinch's public API. Your use of Pinch itself stays under your agreement with Pinch Payments.

2. Your account and credentials

  • You must give accurate details, keep your password and any MCP tokens secret, and tell us promptly if you think they have been misused.
  • You may only add Pinch credentials (a Merchant ID or Application ID and Secret Key) for accounts you are authorised to use. You are responsible for everything done with the tokens and app connections you create.
  • You can revoke tokens and disconnect apps at any time from your Pinch account's page.

3. AI tools and the answers they give

Your AI tool, not us, decides which requests to make and how to present the results. AI tools can misread data or make mistakes, so check anything important, such as amounts, payers and dates, in the Pinch portal before relying on it. Data we return to your AI tool is then handled under that provider's terms.

Creating payment links is off unless you turn it on in Settings and grant a token or app permission to do it. You are responsible for every payment link created through your account, including by your AI tool, and for confirming the payer and amount before it does so.

4. Pricing and credits

  • Each account gets 500 free tool calls each calendar month (Sydney time) for tools that read data. Unused free calls don't carry over.
  • After that, and for every call to a tool that makes changes (such as creating a payment link), each call uses 1 credit. Credits are sold in lots of 1,000 for $10.00 (AUD), up to $500.00 per purchase.
  • Credits never expire.
  • Credits are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund (see section 8). We may refund at our discretion.
  • If you delete your account, any unused credits are forfeited.
  • We aren't registered for GST, so no GST is charged. Every purchase gets an invoice by email. If we register for GST, prices and invoices will change as the law requires, and we'll tell you first.
  • We may change prices for future purchases with at least 30 days' notice. Credits you already hold keep their value of one call each.

5. Payments and auto top-up

Card payments are processed by Pinch Payments. Card numbers go directly from your browser to Pinch and never reach our servers. If you save a card, Pinch stores it and we keep only its brand, last four digits and expiry.

If you turn on auto top-up, you authorise us to charge your saved card the amount you choose (from $10.00 to $500.00) whenever your balance reaches the threshold you set, up to the monthly cap you set (at most $5,000.00 per calendar month, Sydney time). We record the wording you agreed to and when. You can change or turn off auto top-up at any time on the Credits page. We turn it off after repeated declined payments, if your card expires or is removed, or if a payment is disputed.

If you dispute a card payment with your bank, we remove the credits it bought. That can take your balance below zero, in which case only your free calls work until the balance is positive again.

6. Acceptable use

  • Don't use the service to break the law, or to access Pinch accounts you aren't authorised to use.
  • Don't try to get around rate limits, metering or security controls, or overload the service.
  • Don't resell access to the service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other customers at risk, or is used fraudulently. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running, but it depends on Pinch's API and on third-party infrastructure, and there may be interruptions. We may change or stop features. If we close the service entirely, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund the value of unused purchased credits.

8. Australian Consumer Law and liability

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. To the extent the law allows, and apart from those guarantees, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by your AI tool, by Pinch, or by your own credentials or tokens being misused, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it disconnects every token and app, deletes your stored Pinch credentials, removes your saved card from Pinch and forfeits unused credits. We keep invoices and payment records as tax law requires.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [state or territory], Australia. Questions or complaints: [contact email].
